During a recent conversation with a friend of mine we were talking about the value that we provide to our clients and the fact of the matter is many of our clients. We both offer multiple meetings per year to clients, but the truth is many of our clients would probably be happy with 10 minute phone calls a couple of times a year telling them that everything.
Keep in mind, it has taken years in many cases to get to that point with my clients, where they know that my financial acumen is excellent and that I am keeping the eye on the long term for them.
They know that with me keeping an eye on the long term, it allows them to be the best versions of themselves. They have the time and energy to be totally present with their children, their spouses, and in their businesses because they don’t have to spend their limited time and energy on their personal financial situation.
Much of what many financial advisors want to talk about is exactly what our clients are paying us for, so they don’t have to think about it.
A business owner doesn’t want to think about their asset allocation and which insurance policy they’re supposed to have, or what sort of benefits they should put in for their employees.
They don’t really care about how I’m going to minimize their long-term taxes or why I’m optimizing their asset allocation and asset location. What they want to know is that they can spend time traveling with their spouse, they can attend their kid’s game, and can spend time on growing the business that they have invested so much time and energy into.
If you’re sitting there worrying about your insurance, how you’re going to set up your estate plan, how you’re going to make work optional, or how you’re going to exit your business. Then it may be time to consider hiring a REAL financial planner.
You don’t pay us as much to talk about your investments and make you think about your money as you pay us, so you don’t have to worry about it.
